The Dollar Mountain area of Sun Valley ski resort caters primarily to beginner and lower intermediate skiers; the primary mountain for advanced skiers is Bald Mountain, or "Baldy," next to Ketchum. Dollar Mountain is served by four chairlifts, named Dollar, Half Dollar, Quarter Dollar, and Elkhorn. Two of these lifts are detachable quads: the Dollar lift and the Quarter Dollar lift. The third lift is a double chair called the Half Dollar lift; it services slightly steeper terrain than those serviced by the other three lifts. The fourth lift is the Elkhorn triple chairlift and it services intermediate terrain at Elkhorn Village south of Dollar Mountain. First-time skiers can use a magic carpet located at the base of this lift. Snowboarders also have access to terrain parks on this side of the mountain via Half Dollar chairlift.
