Sun Valley, Idaho, this summer is the ultimate destination for a memorable 4th of July getaway. Experience the essence of freedom in this picturesque mountain town, surrounded by natural beauty and a welcoming community. Here are some of the top events and activities going on around the 4th of July to help plan your visit now and create memories that will last a lifetime!
No Independence Day celebration would be complete without a 4th of July Parade. With over 80 floats and entrants this year, Haileys’ parade is the perfect place to celebrate the red, white, and blues. You can expect to wave on horses, wagons, vintage cars, fire trucks, floats, and much more at this quintessential hometown 4th of July celebration in the West.
The parade takes place on Hailey’s main street and begins at noon until around 1 pm. We suggest getting there earlier to secure a good spot, as lots of things are happening around the area all day, so it’s likely to be busy around town.
After enjoying the parade on Haileys’ main street, take a stroll 2 minutes down the road to catch some live music at the annual Riverfest.
Take some lawn chairs and a few good friends to enjoy live music, food, and drinks to celebrate the summer in Idaho in this beautiful outdoor setting. This year, they also have vintage cars on display from Bennyz Hot Rods, all while sipping on a local beer provided by the Sawtooth Brewery in the heart of the Idaho mountains.
The music starts right after the parade finishes, around 1 pm, and runs until 6 pm. Best of all, admission is completely free! You can find out more about Riverfest on their website.

The Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter from South Carolina has music running through his veins and always promises to leave you speechless with his incredible performances. And with support from Tylor & the Train Robbers, the night is packed with talent from start to finish.

The Sun Valley Resort will put on a firework spectacle to finish Independence Day with a bang! The Pavilion Lawn is a great spot to catch the display if you’re attending Marcus King’s 4th of July Concert. But if not, Festival Meadow, Dollar Mountain, and the Sun Valley Clubhouse are all great spots to take in the action and watch the night sky light up.
The firework show will begin around dusk, so keep your eyes and ears open between 9-10 pm, but we recommend planning ahead and getting to your chosen viewpoint. There’s also likely to be parking congestion for this event, so using a bicycle or the Mountain Rides bus system is recommended to get to your destination.
The fireworks are completely free, and you can check out their website or Instagram page for any updates.
